This former swimmer (go GPAC!) couldn't be more proud of Finn for dominating the kiddie pool today. I think as soon as he gets the hang of sitting up,  he'll have the flip turn down in no time. Rio in 2016 perhaps?

Five golden months!

Finn turned 5 months old last week. Wow.

While still a little wobbly, and only lasting a few seconds, Finnegan can now sit on his own! In other news, he's also FOUND HIS SHRIEK. Finn's squeals of delight sound pretty similar to his yells of protest, but luckily the little guy has the most expressive face, so mommy and daddy can usually tell what he's trying to say. (a tip: when viewing the video, turn the volume up to as high as it goes for the most realistic experience)

 

not your average fish fry

To celebrate Finn's baptism, we did our own take on the classic Catholic church fish fry (usually complete with gambling and beer), by including soccer and cornhole (wow, have we become midwesterners?!), champagne, and shrimp shipped in from my hometown, Pensacola FL. It was so special to have our families join in celebrating Finn's big day.

On May 19th, our families gathered in Bloomington for Finnegan's baptism at St. Paul. As with his fourth day photo shoot (See the January blog post), my good friend, Emily captured the event in all its beauty and love in the photos below.

It keeps getting better

Six years ago today, I married my very best friend. I thought things couldn't get any better than that. Then, one year ago today, Clark and I first found out about about Finnegan. Then I really thought things couldn't get any better. Then Finnegan arrived...things couldn't get better...then Finnegan smiled...things couldn't get better...
This day, June 3rd, holds so many special memories, but just as each memory seems the best that life can offer, I'm blessed with something better.
