Going Home

The fourth annual IU Whirlpool Habitat for Humanity build just came to an end. The 10 day blitz build on campus is at the tip top of my what-I-love-about-my-job list. After the powerful house dedication on Saturday night, Finn and I came back Sunday morning to watch the house get picked up and moved from campus to its permanent neighborhood. What fun! Police cars, big loud machinery, closed off roads, a puppy dog, and a house moving down the middle of the street. We walked right behind the house with our great friends from Habitat and the new home owner and his family. What a perfect way to end my favorite project of the year.

The before shot: no house, bad weather, having fun.

The after: finished house, perfect weather, having fun.

Almost home!

into the fall

Whew! It's busy around here! School is back in full swing, which is keeping Clark and me busy at work, and Finnegan is growing and learning things at a crazy rapid speed. Each day he's doing something new/entertaining/interesting/amazing/cringeworthy. Here's a dump of photos and videos to bring you up to speed.

He's SO helpful around the house. Floors and laundry are his specialty.

it's a bird, it's a plane

Bloomington hosted its first hot air balloon festival this weekend. I didn't know about it until I saw all the wonderful photos my friends posted on Friday night. Luckily, the festival lasted the whole weekend, so we booked it over to the fairgrounds on Saturday night, and we're really glad we did! Between the HUGE balloons, the wide open spaces to run, and the kitschy, yet colorful souvenir stands, Finnegan had a blast. So did his parents.
